Lately I’ve noticed that I have absolutely no time to myself.  None.  Zero.  Zilch.  I used to love to read and sew and, I don’t know…… have friends. But now it seems all I do is take care of my family.  Which is a great job and I love them, and all that crap, but good lord, it gets tiring when you’re doing it all by yourself. My kids are smart, and funny, and really great human beings in general…. Read more »

Things finally feel like they’re starting to come together around here! We’ve had a very busy couple of months, and are moving forward on more than one renovation project. Here are a few of the highlights of the last few months: I decorated the outside of our home for the first time this Christmas with items that I picked up last January for 75% off. I love the simple decorations, and the clear lights lining the roof edges. I’ve been… Read more »

Hi everyone!  I hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as I did!  We had the most beautiful weather the last few days!  On Friday night we went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2, and it was AWESOME!!  My kids got all dressed up in their Hogwarts robes and carried their wands; why I did not get a picture of this, I do not know. There is a long and complicated story, but basically it ends with the death of my Miniature Dachshund, Max. Here he is with his best friend, Isabella. Max slipped two discs in his back, and was completely paralyzed from the middle of his back down.  We tried treating him with medication, and my husband even constructed… Read more »

What a beautiful weekend we had in Ontario!  After a cold and rainy week, we were definitely due for some mild and sunny weather.  Our weekend was full of sleepovers, a visit to the pumpkin patch, homework (for me), dinner with my husband’s mom and step-dad and a walk to downtown for some window shopping and ice cream.  Here are a few shots of our wonderful weekend: Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

I cannot believe that my baby isn’t a baby anymore. It went so much faster than I thought it would. I wish I could go back and do it all over again, much, much more slowly. This is Liam and my husband, Mike, on the day Liam was born, 13 years ago today: I was very sick after Liam was born, so the nurses took him to the special care nursery. They told me to buzz them whenever I wanted… Read more »
